Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing

EMDR is best known for treating PTSD but there is a growing evidence base for its use across mental health presentations.  You can find out more about EMDR here.

I am currently undertaking a three part training with an EMDR Association approved provider (EMDR Academy).  Unfortunately completion of the third and final stage of training has been delayed by the Covid-19 pandemic.  I am very excited about integrating this treatment with my existing skill set and believe it compliments my ever evolving approach to counselling, psychotherapy and mental and emotional health and wellbeing.

As I remain a trainee for the time being, I have been practising EMDR with my existing clients and we have seen some really impressive results both in face to face sessions and on-line.  If you wish to discuss EMDR treatment with me, please bear in mind that whilst my competencies are developing well, I have not been able to complete the full training.  I am, however, engaging in ongoing training opportunities and regular supervision specific for EMDR.

It is my intention to offer EMDR as a contracted number of targeted sessions for clients who want treatment for a specific issue and to continue offering it to clients as the need arises in ongoing “traditional” psychotherapeutic work.
